About Double Sided Materials

+  Click the titles below to expand the information

Double sided bonding tape is one of the fastest growing attachment methods today. Double sided materials are replacing traditional fixing methods in a wide range of industries, for a vast number of applications. If you want to design a stronger, lighter, better looking, longer lasting and less costly product, contact us about the wide range of tapes we supply and convert into bespoke shapes, sizes and presentations.

Double Sided Tapes

A double-sided tape is coated with an adhesive (rubber, acrylic or silicone) on both sides of a carrier material and is wound with a release liner to stop the tape sticking to itself. Double sided adhesive tape is used to permanently bond two substrates together and can do so invisibly, as opposed to overlapping them. Depending on the type used, a double-sided tape also offers benefits such as sealing and gap filling, in addition to bonding. A mounting tape is a proven and reliable alternative to traditional fixing methods and offer a range of benefits such as reduced assembly times and enhanced quality. We offer an extensive range of double sided mounting tape from World leading manufacturers, including 3M tape, tesa tape, Scapa tape and more.

Double sided tape characteristics:

  • High durability and resistance to UV, water and high temperatures
  • Easy to handle
  • Strong enough for demanding applications e.g. VHB tape
  • For internal or external use
  • Invisibly bonds and seals simultaneously
  • Varying thicknesses available
  • Available with a range of carrier types
  • Low VOC options available for many automotive and electronics applications
  • Available with a range of adhesive types, which can differ on each side
  • Can be used on a wide range of surfaces including metal, glass, paper, stainless steel, rubber, polycarbonate, felt, foam and non-woven parts

Our applications include:

  • Badge and trim attachment (automotive, consumer electronics etc)
  • Gasket and seal attachment
  • Point of sale and heavy duty mounting
  • Sign making and attachment

Transfer Adhesive Tapes

An adhesive transfer tape is a pressure sensitive adhesive with no carrier, directly coated onto a release liner. These tapes very quickly bond two surfaces and can be easily applied by hand, with a dispenser or using automated pick and place technology. They are designed to increase manufacturing efficiency by replacing traditional bonding and fastening materials, offering a reliable bonding solution. Adhesive transfer tapes are especially suitable where a thin and invisible bond is required and are ideal for bonding lightweight materials like paper, cloth or plastic. They are available in a variety of thicknesses and adhesive formulations and will attach a wide range of similar and dissimilar materials. Repositionable transfer tapes are also available and can be removed and reused numerous times without leaving any adhesive residue. We can combine transfer tapes with other materials, such as laminating to foams. They are easily die-cut into convenient shapes and sizes; offering a variety of options to meet your individual needs.

Differential Tapes

A differential tape is a double sided tape that is coated with a different adhesive on either side of the tape’s carrier. Differential tape products are ideal for applications requiring temporary holding, repositionable placement and for permanently bonding two different substrates where one is easy to adhere to and one is difficult to adhere to.
