Label Innovation Inc. (LINC) is a custom label manufacturer and converter of specialty components, tapes and labels. Based in Ottawa, the company uses flexographic print technology to produce conventional pressure sensitive based products and to convert raw materials, such as foam, rubber, plastics and other materials into unique specialty products to meet our customer’s specified requirements.

 

Manufacturing Equipment Operator (Roll to Roll Converting Press)

Label Innovation Inc has an opening for permanent, full-time, Manufacturing Equipment Operator (Roll to Roll Converting Press). The Manufacturing Equipment Operator, under the direction of the Production Supervisor, will operate a converting machine to manufacture high quality label and specialized converted products. We are looking for candidates who have an engineering mindset and are interested in being trained by LINC to develop a career in the manufacturing industry. Eventually, an experienced Manufacturing Equipment Operator will contribute to the development of new and innovative products encompassing a wide range of different materials.

What Are Considered Assets

  • Experienced operating press machinery
  • Experience in the flexographic industry
  • Knowledge of paper stocks, inks and related materials/techniques used in the printing industry.
  • Familiar with basic hand tools and inspection equipment such as calipers both dial and digital

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensuring high standards of workmanship and efficiency running various products on a laser cutting
    machine
  • Perform job order review to ensure job requirements are known and understood
  • Setting up / adjusting the press for job runs and closely monitoring machines for signs of problems
    while ensuring output is meeting set specifications
  • Monitoring product quality during production runs by checking it against drawings and established
    quality standards
  • Taking corrective measures when quality standards are not met and recommending measures to
    improve productivity, product quality, and safety
  • Troubleshooting and correcting most press operating problems
  • Completing accurately all related job paperwork
  • Ensuring outputs meet production schedules, safety and quality standards, as well as customer
    needs
  • Performing routine press maintenance, safety checks, upkeep and cleaning
  • Maintaining acceptable productivity standards while minimizing raw material waste
  • Following manufacturing and processing procedures, setting machine or equipment controls,
    carrying out production and inspection processes as documented
  • Ensuring proper use of required personal protective equipment at all times
  • Maintaining a clean working area free from dirt and debris between tasks and at end of day
  • Communicating with Supervisor, Lead Hand, Quality Assurance, as needed for any issue that
    arises during production
  • Assisting R&D and Production teams in researching and developing new applications
