Sales Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Sales Engineer to join our team. The individual needs to bring high energy and self motivation, but as our name suggests, "innovative" thinking and creative solutions within a technical customer environment are keys to success in our target markets.

Summary

A Sales Engineer is the key technical resource in support of the company sales effort. Interaction will be direct with the customer as well as through various members of the Sales Department.

In addition to the members of the Sales Department, the Sales Engineer will regularly consult/collaborate with and advise other colleagues from a range of departments including R & D, Design, Customer Service, Production and Quality.

Primary Responsibilities

Act as technical presence in front of our most technically sophisticated customers
Work with Sales Consultants to expand business within existing customer base
Develop opportunities for process improvement to increase margin/reduce cost to our customers
Invest time on site at customer facilities to strengthen customer relationships and to better anticipate technical problems
Develop solutions to customer technical problems
Communicate with Technical, Quality and Production to make sure all is according to customer's expectation
Review progress with Sales Director weekly. Set goals and objectives for completion the following week. Review new opportunities
Assist in sales calls as required
Assist in product reviews to increase idea base for processes and materials

Additional Responsibilities May Include

Helping in the design of custom-made products
Other duties as may be required and assigned from time to time

Qualifications

Academic: B.Eng. or equivalent
Experience: Sales, Production and/or Design
Skills/Abilities: Effective communicator with both technical and non-technical customers - Presentation Skills - Creative - Problem Solving Skills - Strong motivation to contribute and succeed - Team Oriented - Leader
