Tamper-Evident Stock
 
A material that is constructed in such a way that it will show signs of tempering when removing it from its applied surface is attempted.
 
 
Tension
 
Tension is exerted to pull the material tight enough so that it will track straight in a machine. The stress caused by force operating to extend, stretch or pull apart.
 
 
Thermal printer
 
A non-impact printer that produces output using heat instead of ink on heat sensitive paper (direct thermal) or ribbons with heat sensitive media on standard materials.
 
 
Thread
 
Initial pass of a web between the various rollers or other parts of the machine.
 
 
Tolerance
 
The difference between the upper and lower limits of established standards or measurement values.
 
 
Tool
 
Also known as a die
 
 
Transfer Adhesive
 
An adhesive in sheet or roll form used in the construction of labels that is normally applied (or transferred) using pressure rollers.
 
 
Trapping
 
The overlapping of various colours in a design to prevent their separation and not touching as a result of registration variable during printing
